Jackie Aina grew up in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, where she is previously described as “a kind of neighborhood and a kind of suburb”. But it was her experience growing up in La Puente, a relatively poor community just south of West Covina, where Aina grew up in a three-bedroom, one-bathroom house she shared with eight family members. Today, the 33-year-old is arguably the best black beauty guru on YouTube and one of the best beauty gurus on the internet in general, alongside big names like Jeffree star, Jaclyn Hill, Nikkie de Jager, Jacques Charles and Tati Westbrook – with millions in the proverbial bank.
While still living in the San Gabriel Valley, Aina’s residential situation has changed dramatically. The veteran influencer bought a $ 6 million mansion in wealthy Arcadia, just east of Pasadena and immediately west of Monrovia and Bradbury. Brand new and completed this year, the lavish space includes over 10,000 square feet of living space in a main mansion and freestanding guesthouse. There is a four-car garage, resort-style swimming pool and a sophisticated security system.
It has been a long road to the top for the veteran of the United States Army. Divorced in her early 20s, Aina’s subsequent career on YouTube brought her fame and fortune – she has over 3.5 million subscribers and nearly 400 million lifetime views on her main channel – and she used this fame in the lucrative cosmetics and housewares industries. In recent years, the budding entrepreneur has launched makeup collaborations with big brands like Too Faced and Anastasia Beverly Hills; last year marked the launch of its own brand Forvr Mood, which sells a range of scented candles and sprays.
Like almost all great influencers, Aina has also faced her fair share of criticism and controversy. Detractors are quick to point fingers at her sometimes petty online quarrels with other YouTubers, and they also accused her of participating in a so-called “fake gift” which prompted the contest winner to file a complaint with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). Still, Aina received kudos from many for his frank and unrestricted criticism beauty products and businesses, especially those she considers not including people of color.
And with her fiancé Denis Asamoah, Aina can easily shake off the critics from the comfort of her lavish Arcadia home. Jiawei shen de Coldwell Banker was listed; Ikem T. Chukumerije of Westside Premier Estates represented the purchaser.
Built on speculation by a local couple, the fully landscaped estate spans over half an acre of land, with mature palm trees to the front and back. For more privacy, the gated property is equipped with cameras and a sophisticated alarm system.
Aina’s guests will be flabbergasted by the entrance. There are marble floors galore, wood-paneled walls, a Kia Soul-sized crystal chandelier, and double-height ceilings.
Immediately flanking the entrance are both a wood-paneled study and a spacious living room, the latter fitted with a fireplace and connected to a formal dining room.
Dark hardwood floors flow through this very chic space with its formal paneling and shimmering wallpaper. Arched windows overlook the gardens.
There’s also a fully customized wet bar that goes beyond the kitchens of some “regular” homes and connects to a walk-in wine closet.
Relax in the sumptuous family room, with built-in wood features and two patio doors opening onto the backyard.
The house also has not one but two kitchens, one of them a traditional Chinese cuisine in the wok for an aromatic cuisine and the other a more sumptuous (and significantly larger) chef’s kitchen with two marble islands and a white and gold color. scheme.
There is also a white and velor home theater with soundproof walls.
Upstairs, the facilities include an “executive office” and a second, more intimate and family-friendly lounge.
There is also a romantic upstairs balcony – if you want to call it that – overlooking the lower level, with a seating area and served by a wet bar with built-in sink with beverage fridge.
The master suite alone is the size of a small house, with a spacious bedroom, an all-marble bathroom, and a boutique-style closet with custom glass cabinets and a marble storage island. Also off the master is a covered patio overlooking the back yard.
From the main house, a particularly wide patio overflows with grassy lawns and manicured boxwood to the swimming pool, which is flanked by mature palm trees.
The independent poolhouse / guest house offers a shaded loggia with an outdoor fireplace, perfect for small gatherings. Inside, the annex structure offers a bar area and a complete bathroom as well as a separate sauna. Then there is the spacious main room, which has hardwood floors and could easily be converted into a seventh bedroom or a gym.
An elevated spa with a waterfall adjoins the pool, and there’s ample patio space for a veritable army of bathers.
Arcadia, an upscale LA suburb with one of the best public school districts in all of California, is best known for its many multi-million dollar mansions and home to the famous Santa Anita Park racecourse, where thoroughbred horses have long participated in prestigious races. Almost directly next to the racetrack are the beautiful (and seemingly haunted) gardens of the Los Angeles Arboretum.
