“I’ve always enjoyed BBL when I’ve played there…but my approach with all franchise cricketing hasn’t changed in the last seven years,” Starc said. “My approach to the IPL, BBL, I’ve looked at the Australian schedule and I want to be as fit and as good as I can be. And franchise cricket has taken a step back.”

“The schedule for the next 18 months is ridiculous. I will always keep Australian cricket in mind and then franchise cricket (second). I also enjoy spending time at home and seeing my wife (the Australian wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy).”
